Greener Places for Communities

Creating greener places for people

Hull’s Dynamic Drains is helping create healthier, greener and more welcoming spaces for local communities.

By improving watercourses and surrounding land, the project is creating places where people can enjoy nature, learn about Hull’s water heritage and spend time outdoors.

Explore Hull’s Waterways

Walking trails and discovery

Walking, Cycling & Recreation

New trails and green corridors are helping people explore parts of Hull’s drainage network that may have previously gone unnoticed.

Interpretation boards along routes provide information about local wildlife, drainage history and flood risk management. Many routes also offer improved opportunities for walking, cycling and informal recreation.

Meet the Mascots

Wendy Water Vole and Percy Perch

Along some trails, visitors can spot Wendy Water Vole and Percy Perch, the project’s wildlife mascots, who help younger audiences learn about nature and local history in a fun and engaging way.

Schools & Community Learning

Activities
  • ✓ Creating rain gardens and wetland habitats
